What Is Occupational Therapy
Clarah-Divine Occupational Therapy (CLARAH DIVINE OT), previously known as Clarah Sivhabu Occupational Therapy practice, was established in 2002. It focused on clinical work for the first 6 years rendering occupational therapy clinical and treatment services for Orthopaedic injuries (hand, limb injuries, and spinal cord injuries), Neurological injuries (strokes, head injuries, and learning difficulties), and Psychiatric cases.
It introduced functional capacity evaluation in 2007. It has been a full-time functional capacity evaluation practice since 2009, focusing on medico-legal and return-to-work functional capacity evaluations and, thereafter, Human Factor and Ergonomic evaluation of physical and psychosocial/ cognitive ergonomics

Occupational therapists have a broad education in medical, social-behavioural, psychological, psychosocial and occupational sciences which equips them with the attitudes, skills and knowledge to work collaboratively with people, individually or in groups or communities. Occupational therapists can work with all people, including those who have an impairment of body structure or function owing to a health condition, who are restricted in their participation or who are socially excluded due to their membership in social or minority groups.
Occupational therapists believe that participation can be supported or restricted by the physical, social, cultural, attitudinal and legislative environments. Therefore occupational therapy practice is focussed on enabling individuals to change aspects of their person, occupation, the environment or some combination of these to enhance occupational participation.
